Seeking Employment

Looking for work overseas

There may be any number of reasons for you wanting to move to a different country to work. Whether you are simply unhappy with your current job, want to move ‘up the ladder’, looking to change your career, or simply improve your standard of living, a physical move may be the answer.

Moving Home To obviously has links with a great number of companies and organisations and if you are looking to move and find work, we can help. Our Recruitment Associates offer general recruiting services, CV Writing/Interview Coaching and Outplacement Services.

Many offer a wide range of opportunities whilst others specialise, dealing with Finance, Corporate Services, Engineering, Information Technology, Shipping, Legal and Oil & Gas, Tourism, Hotel & Catering, Teaching etc.

Income

If you have a job to move to it is important to have enough money with you to allow you to live for the first 4 to 8 weeks at the very least. It is very unlikely your employer will pay you in advance therefore ensure you either have enough money to last until you receive your first pay packet as a minmum.

If you are starting a ‘commission only’ job the situation is much different as you may well have to wait 3-6 months until the business you write is paid to you as income.

Whatever the case you are likley to have additional 'set-up' costs such as rental deposit and insurance.

Getting Paid & Bank Accounts

Depending on your employer, you will generally be paid weekly or monthly. Some companies pay every four weeks – giving you 13 pay days each year. You could be paid in cash, by cheque or direct via a bank transfer. Make sure you clarify the terms in advance.
